(About frustrations with billing before engaging utiliVisor) We would punch in numbers and expect it to generate a bill-back number at the end of the spreadsheet, but everything in between was a little bit beyond our technical experience and knowledge. The calculations were so complicated and all tied to each other throughout the spreadsheet, that it was very difficult to... if there was an error or if a tenant number at the end of the spreadsheet didn't make sense – the prior numbers – it wasn't easy for us to back into how we got to that error.
We've really enjoyed working with utiliVisor. It's been a super easy process and they were able to... this probably isn't the right terminology but kind of dumb things down for us and speak to us in layman's terms to make it easy for us to understand the complexity of these billings and calculations.
Having all of that data from the tenant side in one selective place allows us more time to be able to review the actual utility bills and how that those financials affect the base building utility bills, right because they net each other. They're coming in soon to make sure that the meters are metering what they're supposed to do and they're accurate. And we share that with the tenant. And that gives them their confidence that their invoices will be correct.
You can go low and just hire a meter reader to come in and read the meters. But you need a program - one with software and people that can look at the data before they send it to you.
