utiliVisor Qualified Service Provider | NYSERDA Real Time Energy Management Program

utiliVisor Accredited For NYSERDA’s New Real Time Energy Management (RTEM) Program

utiliVisor, a leading provider of energy plant continuous energy oversight systems, has been accredited as a qualified service provider for the new NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) Real Time Energy Management (RTEM) program.

The new NYSERDA program supports building owners and building management companies, offering cost-shared incentives for both the installation of systems and the post-installation information services.

The program requires building owners and managers to engage a post-installation service provider, who will analyze energy usage data at the site, and make customized suggestions for operations, maintenance, and capital improvements.

The Real Time Energy Management program from NYSERDA funds projects that use technologies to improve building performance by extracting data from existing control systems and creating actionable information to reduce operating costs,” noted Tim Angerame, COO at utiliVisor. “utiliVisor’s energy monitoring technology has a proven track record of success with NYSERDA and we have been able to obtain millions of dollars in incentives for our clients through the agency’s rebate and incentive programs.

Continuous Energy Oversight

utiliVisor provides continuous energy oversight for chiller and boiler plant operations that allow owners to optimize a plant’s performance. The utiliVisor system measures energy performance and efficiency in real time with data collected from the plant’s equipment every five minutes and transmitted via the web to the firm’s operations center. Energy engineers then evaluate the data and determine the optimum operating sequence for plant equipment in order to achieve maximum energy efficiency.

“utiliVisor energy oversight reduces energy costs in buildings by an average of 20 percent, using existing equipment with minimal capital expense,” Mr. Angerame pointed out. “By taking advantage of the NYSERDA RTEM program, connection to our continuous energy oversight portal is funded 30 percent up to a $75,000 incentive. Fees for ongoing monthly monitoring, which helps owners reduce central plant costs by 12-20 percent, are also subsidized by NYSERDA up to $20,000 per year for years one through three and up to $10,000 annually for years four to five.”
